Network Security Specialist
Digitization@ Miele requires constantly increasing IT performance to support our specific processes worldwide and to connect our innovative products.
We are looking for a Network Security Specialist located in Brasov to support our global Infrastructure team.
Our IT Infrastructure team is responsible for the stable, high-performance and secure operation of our local and wide area networks, wireless technologies as well as basic network services and monitoring.
To connect and secure our IT systems in more than 250 locations with our central data centers and our cloud applications, we use modern technologies such as IPSEC, MPLS, SD-WAN, prioritization (QoS), cloud proxy, routing, switching, and zoning based on the network (VR) and IDS / IPS Layer-7 firewalls.
Key responsibilities:
- Administrating and managing (technical operations) firewall infrastructure;
- Participating in security designs, validating and testing applications communication via firewalls;
- Approving network security related requests after analyzing the impact it may have on the infrastructure;
- Support global maintenance activities based on approved change requests;
- Reviewing security logs to monitor unauthorized system access attempts, both internal and external;
- Collaborating with service providers/clients/vendors, and other technical engineers for seamless and secure functionality of the networks;
- Working within customer requirements to design and deliver relevant projects within agreed timescales;
- Working based on defined metrics to achieve and maintain high quality of service delivery;
- Day-to-day support of internal and external projects including cooperation with other sites as necessary;
Your profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in the IT field or relevant comparable qualification (e.g. Computer Science);
- At least 3 year experience in firewall and/or SSE operations;
- Work experience with any of the following: F5 Firewalls / ZScaler/ Palo Alto;
- Knowledge of firewall technologies as virtual firewall, and next generation firewall;
- Experience in network zoning with firewalls in combination with VRF routing instances and high availability concepts;
- Hands on experience in use of packet capture and network analysis for a strong troubleshooting;
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal communications skills in English
Nice to have:
- Certification is preferred but not mandatory: F5 Big IP /Zscaler / Palo Alto: PCCET, PCNSA or PCNSE;
- General WAF experience like Akamai/F5 etc.
- Understanding of VPN with GRE, SSL or IPSEC;
- German language skills beneficial;
- Knowledge of application-level gateways, dedicated proxy servers, UTM, web application firewalls;
- Routing protocols OSPF and BGP;
- DNS and DHCP;
- Scripting capabilities.
